About
Matthew B. Tarutis
I didn’t have much growing up. Well, at least that’s what I thought until I realized how powerful creativity could be. Creativity allowed me to be anyone, anywhere, doing anything at any moment with just a few flicks of a pen. Creativity not only saved my life but gave me one.
Whether it’s music, film, TV, or even poetry, communicating emotions through art has become my superpower and nothing brings me more joy than helping others turn their visions into reality.
Educational
Upon getting out of the military, I applied to the top six film schools in the country. Surprise, I was rejected from all.
However, I did get a letter from Loyola Marymount University stating that despite not being able to accept me for Film Production, they would take me in as a screenwriting major. The rest is history.
I attended Loyola Marymount from 2016 to 2019. I graduated Suma Cum Laude in screenwriting and film production while running the Student Veteran’s Organization as president and interning at Entertainment One, CBS, and Underground Films.
I was also accepted into the Writer’s Guild Foundations annual mentorship program in 2019, where I was mentored by the industry’s top writers, such as Kira Snyder (Handmaid’s Tale) and Tony Camerino (Taken) and Graham Roland (Jack Ryan).
Professional
My entertainment career began after graduating from Loyola Marymount University, where I developed and oversaw the many creative elements of Tyra Banks’ latest start-up, ModelLand. Working primarily as a UX writer for the immersive experience, I led and wrote the documentary, digital marketing campaigns, and storylines for its graphic novels, television series, and live performances within ModelLand itself.
Since then, I’ve worked as a producer for the Emmy nominated TV show “Hollywood Disclosure” as well as a creative contributor to the reality shows “Life Unfiltered” and “Dream Life.” I’ve also worked closely with brands and businesses on building their brand, contributions that are kept off the record to honor client discretion as a celebrity ghostwriter.
